Xiaomi is reportedly working on a budget phone Xiaomi Redmi S2 with an 18:9 screen and a dual camera. As per @FunkyHuawei, this phone will be launched in India and China.

Xiaomi Redmi S2 will features a 720 x 1,440 px LCD screen, Snapdragon 625 chipset and Android Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The phone will pack 16GB of storage but it was not confirmed if there will be other storage variants. There was no information regarding RAM but we should expect 2GB and 3GB of RAM models.

The phone will come with a dual camera having 12 megapixels + 5 megapixels sensors. It looks like the camera setup on back is same that we saw on red Note 5 Pro, so we can expect portrait mode and EIS. The phone will also have a 5 megapixels front camera with support to Faceunlock.

Redmi S2 will also pack a 3,080 mAh battery. With Snapdragon 625, this battery should be sufficient for good battery life.

Xiaomi has scheduled an event for April 25. Xiaomi Mi 6X has been confirmed to be the primary product of the event, but we can also expect this budget phone.
