Google has launched its job search feature in India in less than a year after launching it in US. The job search curates job listings from multiple job portals and shows via Google search.
The primary aim of Google Job Search is to reduce the time of job search and make information available in few clicks. Google will not just show jobs from hob portals but also from official website’s of several companies.
Users can also filter jobs based on their preference. There will also be the option for save jobs and share. Users can also sign up for alters on mobile. Google is also in talks with few job portals for possible partnership for job listing. It is also working with several state governments to list jobs online via Google.
Google has also released an open documentation for job platforms and companies to improve their pages for making jobs more discoverable and convertible.
Google Job Search feature will surely hurt several job portals that rely on ads revenue in place of paid membership. Indeed will surely be one of the most affected job portals that will see drop in traffic from Google. Even if Google Jobs redirect people to original job portal, but people will not spend less time there as Google already gives option for filter and research.
