Few days back, it was reported that Instagram is working on a tool to allow users download their account information before they leave. Now, the company has officially rolled out the tool.

It lets users export all of their photos, videos, archived Stories, profile, info, comments, and non-ephemeral messages. Total time in exporting the data depends on the amount of photos or videos you shared on Instagram. The company says that it may take ‘up to 48 hours.’ You will reaching link to download data to the provided email address.

For now, you can use this link to download your data. The company is also rolling out the option for Android and iOS apps that should be available soon.

Instagram decided to add this tool after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Europe’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has also its contribution in convincing Instagram for this option.

WhatsApp has also announced to rollout a data download tool as a part of its GDPR compliance. Uses will be able to export their data including profile photo and group names but not photos. It has also increases the minimum age to use its app from 13 to 16 in Europe.
