Coolpad Smartphones in India to Get Amazon Alexa Voice Support Soon

Selected Coolpad smartphones in India will soon get Amazon Alexa support. Coolpad Group announced this exciting news at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona.

The selected devices getting the Alexa support will be Coolpad Cool Play 6, Note 5, and Note 5 Lite. The support will be available via an over-the-air (OTA) update. The company also confirmed that new Coolpad devices in India will support Amazon Alexa out of the box.

With Alexa integration, these smartphones will be able to perform several actions with your voice commands. You can play music, shop from Amazon.in and perform search. You can also access information like Calendar, check or create to-do lists, weather and listed to latest news briefings.

“We are working to immerse more AI and tech into smartphones to make the experience more intelligent, friendly, and beneficial for the customers. Incorporating Alexa in Coolpad smartphones is one such step in that direction,” said Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India, in a press statement.

After getting this support, Coolpad will becomee the first brand in India to offer native Alexa support. This is not the first time Coolpad has done something for the first time in India. This is the brand the has pushed the limits multiple times by offering high-end features in low price to give big challenges to companies. It brought fingerprint sensor, 4GB RAM, then 6 GB RAM and dual camera for the first time in a budget or mid-range devices. Now it is bringing Alexa integration.

Coolpad also announced its partnership with Qualcomm for smart wearables. So, we can expect Coolpad’s wearable devices based on Snapdragon Wear platforms.
