Nokia 8 Sirocco Android One Phone with 5.5-inch Quad HD display, dual rear cameras announced

At MWC 2018, HMD Global has also announced Nokia 8 Sirocco with Android One. The phone has same features as in original Nokia 8 but with few changes. Now the phone has glass body for wireless charging support and rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

Nokia 8 Sirocco has glass on 95 percent of the body and just tiny stainless-steel chassis along the sides. The phone has 5.5-inch pOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 GPU. It has 6GB DDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage. The storage is also expandable up to 256GB.

It has dual camera setup with 12 megapixels (2L7 wide-angle lens, 1.4um pixel size, f/1.7 aperture) and 12 megapixels (3M3 Telephoto lens, 1.0um pixel size, f/2.6 aperture) sensors. It offers 2x optical zoom and dual-tone flash. The phone also Jas 5 megapixels front camera. The phone has a new Pro Camera mode that was available in Nokia Lumia devices.

The phone is IP54 rated to offer Splashproof body. It has 3 microphones system for noise cancellation. It ditched 3.5mm audio jack and rely on the USB Type-C for audio.

Connectivity features of the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 and NFC. It packs 3260mAh battery with fast charging, Qi Wireless Charging.

Nokia 8 Sirocco is priced at 749 euros and will be available in April this year.
