Stories are everywhere. It started from Snapchat, but now you have it on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and YouTube. But that is not the end. Google has now added Stories on mobile search results.

Google has introduced a new AMP story format to take AMP to a new level. The idea behind AMP Story same as you see on Instagram or Snapchat. It will allow publishers to build image, video or animated Stories for mobile that you people can swipe.

Google has also partnered with several big publishers including CNN, Conde Nast, Hearst, Mashable, Meredith, Mic, Vox Media and The Washington Post. So, you will soon start seeing AMP Stories on mobile search.

Like AMP pages, AMP Stories will not be easy as you will have to build Stores from scratch to keep it interesting.

It is also not clear how Google will keep AMP Stories from different brands in search and how publishers will get their place in it. In the demo links, Google wants us to search for brands and it shows visual stories at the top before search results. I am not sure if this will be there only for brand related searches or it will add stories from multiple brands at the top if it matches to a search result.
