Lenovo Smart Display

At CES 2018, Lenovo announced its Smart Display with Google Assistant. It is a touchscreen device with Assistant to provide weather, traffic, and news updates. It can also control smart home devices. It looks similar to Amazon’s Echo Show with built-in Alexa.

As the device comes with a display, you can also use it for video calls and YouTube streaming. The Smart Display comes in two models. The first one comes with 8-inch HD touchscreen display and the second one comes with 10-inch Full HD touchscreen display.

The 8-inch Display device is smaller, so it has a smaller speaker that its 10-inch sibling. But both devices have 10 W speaker and dual passive radiator. It has few buttons for volume adjustments, camera shutter, and mic-disable. The 8-inch Smart Display comes in a light-gray color and the 10-inch model comes with a bamboo-colored back panel.

It has always-listening functionality. So, you can say “Hey Google” anytime and it will listen to your command. You can ask for the weather report, traffic data, make video calls, read the calendar, watch YouTube video and more.

It is powered by Qualcomm’s new Home Hub Platform with a Snapdragon 624 SoC. It also has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It has Google Duo integration for video calling. You can also watch YouTube on this video. It can also be used as a digital photo frame with images picked from Google Photos.

Lenovo Smart Display will be available this summer. The 8-inch model costs $199 and the 10-inch model costs $249.
