Google started Free Wifi Internet access to selected Indian railway stations almost two years back. IN that, it was offering 30 minutes free high-speed Internet access. The company has started the trial of paid plans after the free access expires.

As spotted by a Reddit user, the Google Station WiFi is charging Rs. 19 to offer high-speed access for 24 hours. The premium option includes unlimited data from any supported stations across the region. There is also a plan of Rs. 149 that offers free access for a week.

Google’s spokesperson also confirmed that paid plans are in testing. He also confirmed that free access (with ads) is not going anywhere and users who do not want to pay can keep accessing the free Wifi for 30 minutes.

In the time when most of the prepaid users have cheap data offers due to the tough competition from Reliance Jio, very fewer people will go with paid plans, but it is still not costly to try. If you are traveling or regular traveler, you can go with the plans. It will surely offer you good speed to access the Internet at Railway stations.

Google started free Wifi service back in January 2016 starting at Mumbai Central. Now this service is available at hundreds of stations and offers users free access to the Internet by registering with the phone number.

This program attracted lots of passengers due to its free model. Now it is available at 227 stations across the country and Google is adding more each month.
