There are numbers of third-party apps that let you access your texts, apps, files, and calls from your PC. Dell has also added one more app in that list.
The company has launched “Mobile Connect” App that allows you to pair a Dell or Alienware Windows PC with iOS and Android device. Once paired, you will get calls and text messages on your PC. You can even see notifications from third-party instant messaging and social media apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and more. You can also reply directly from PC.
Dell Mobile Connect also lets you use mirroring to control phone apps on your PC.
The app uses Bluetooth and WiFi direct to pair with your phone. It does not use Internet or a router, so your data remains secure. You will not miss any notification as long as your phone is within the wireless range.
Few features of this app will not work on iOS due to the arbitrary iOS restrictions. So, you will not get third-party app notifications on iPhone and iPad, but it will work fine on Android.
Dell also promises to include it in most of its new PCs this year including next-gen XPS, Vostro and Inspiron series.
It is similar to Apple’s feature that connects Macbook and iPhones seamlessly.
