The Face Unlock feature of OnePlus 5T received good feedback from reviewers and users across the globe. So, the company has decided to bring this feature to OnePlus 5 as well after the huge demand by OnePlus 5 users.

The Face Unlock feature of OnePlus 5T is the simpler version of Face unlock that users just front camera and software processing to verify a face to unlock the phone. It is less secure, so the company is not offering it as a security option in Payment processing.

Carl Pei tweeted to confirm that the Face unlock will be coming to OnePlus 5.

We still have no specific timeline for when the OnePlus 5 will be getting this feature. We also do not know if this feature will also come to older OnePlus devices as well.

We can expect this feature in an OxygenOS update next month. I am sure this news will surely bring a smile on the faces of OnePlus 5 users who were not happy with an upgraded phone within few months of OnePlus’s launch.
