Instagram now allows you to add photos or videos older than 24 hours to Stories

Instagram has pushed another update to make your experience better. Now, you can add photos or videos that are older than 24 hours to your stories. So, you can browse through your gallery and pick any item.

Previously, you needed to edit metadata, re-save or take a screenshot for posting the older item to stores.

When you try to upload an older photo or video to stories, Instagram will automatically place a sticker showing the date the photo or video was taken. But you can remove, rotate or resize this timestamp sticker like any other sticker.

With this update, Instagram wants users to have more option to publish on Stories. So, you may now see stories with #throwback hashtags on Stories.

The update is now available for all on Instagram v22 for iOS and Instagram V18 for Android.

Instagram Stories became official last year in August and closed over 300 million active users in a year. This feature also helped Instagram a lot in beating Snapchat.
