HMD Global has announced its entry-level smartphone Nokia 2 India. The company didn’t confirm India pricing but it will be available for EUR 99 in European markets. It will start shipping in min-November.
The main USP of the Nokia 2 is its 4100 mAh battery. The HMD Global claims that Nokia 2 has 2-days battery life. The company also claims that this is the first phone to come with Google Assistant in this price segment.

Nokia 2 smartphone has 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LTPS In-Cell Touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This Nokia 2 smartphone has 1GB of RAM. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 that seems a bit weak but it will be interesting at this price.

The smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel of the front camera with fixed focus.
The Connectivity options in the phone are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio with RDS. It has Micro-USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack for connectivity. The Nokia 2 comes with 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable through microSD card (up to 128GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
It has 4100 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 2 days if you use the phone for 5 hours per day. The smartphone has the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor.
This is Nokia’s cheapest Android smartphone. HMD global chief product manager, Juho Sarvikasthe said that great battery, a good display, 4G and a good camera are four important things that people always expect from the cheap smartphone. And the Nokia 2 has all of these features.
The smartphone will be available in three color variants including Pewter Black with black face and frame, Pewter White with white face and black frame, and Copper frame with black face and black back. It measures 143.5×71.3×9.3mm. It is also IP52-rated for protection from water spill.
