WhatsApp Announces Business app

WhatsApp is finally ready to earn money with its new business app. The company has launched a new business app. This app will be free for small-to-medium sized businesses but chargeable for large enterprise businesses.

With the business app, companies will allow customers to communicate with them. Business will also have a verified profile with a green badge. So, users can easily identify the official business account.

“Our approach is simple – we want to apply what we’ve learned helping people connect with each other to helping people connect with businesses that are important to them,” said WhatsApp.

Enterprise customers will have more features to manage the business. They can add multiple representatives to manage account and send high volume messages. There could also be a function of chatbot. Enterprises customers will be airlines, e-commerce sites, and banks. These companies can send updates, notifications, flight details, order details like things on WhatsApp.

Many businesses have already been using WhatsApp for their communication. With the new Business app, they can easily manage the conversations and get better tools to explore the new ways of business promotion on WhatsApp.

Users can always block a service on WhatsApp if they don’t wish to be contacted by a particular business.

Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion back in 2014. Now after 3 years, the company has finally setup a system to monetize it’s over a billion user base. Initially, the app was launched with $1 annual subscription fee but became free and also confirmed not to introduce ads.
