HMD Global has launched its flagship phone Nokia 8 in the Indian market. This phone was announced last month with cameras powered by ZEISS optics. It is priced at Rs. 36999 and will be available online exclusive to Amazon.in. It will also be available from offline retail stores.

Nokia 8 comes with 5.3-inch Quad HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It runs on Android 7.1.1 and will also get Android O update soon. The phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM DDR4X RAM and Adreno 504 GPU.

It has 64 GB USB 2.1 storage with the option to expand up to 256GB. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM slot. The phone has dual camera setup with 13 megapixels RGB and 13 megapixels Monochrome sensor by ZEISS optics. The camera has 76.9-degree wide-angle lens, PDAF, IR range finder, dual-tone flash. It also has 13 megapixels front camera with ZEISS optics, PDAF, 1.12um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and 78.4˚ lens. It also lets you record bothie that is recording from the rear and front camera at the same time.

The phone is Splashproof with the IP54 rating. It also has a fingerprint sensor. For good music experience, it has Nokia OZO 360° spatial surround sound.

Connectivity features of Nokia 8 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 and NFC. It packs 3090 mAh battery with support to Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

It will be available from October 14th on Amazon.in online and selected retail stores across the country.

At this price, Nokia 8 will compete with OnePlus 5, Honor 8 Pro and LG G6. LG G6 looks much powerful for the same price while OnePlus 5 is much popular. It will be interesting to see if Nokia manages to get consumers by beating the competition.
