Facebook is testing a standalone group video chat app Bonfire

Bonfire

It seems Facebook is not getting expected engagement on Messenger. Now the company is testing a new video chat app Bonfire. The app was found by The Next Web in Danish Apple App Store.

This app looks to offer group video chat, apply Snapchat like filters and capture photos from video calls. You can also share photos to Facebook-owned social media services. It uses the Facebook account to create your profile and allow access.

The app looks very much similar to another notable group video chat app Houseparty.

TNW also received a reply from Facebook about this app. Facebook confirmed the existence of this app and its small testing in Denmark. But the Facebook representative deny to further comment and share more details.

The description on app store clearly explains it as “Group video chat”. You can have up to 8 friends in video chats.
