WhatsApp has also added a new support page explaining Verified business accounts. So, we know it is real and coming anytime soon. Businesses will also have an option to set working hours. If you call during non-working hours, get an ‘away’ message.

“ If you see a green badge next to a contact’s name, it means that WhatsApp has confirmed that the phone number of this contact belongs to a business account.” WhatsApp support page reads about verified business accounts.

As of now, this feature is limited to the selected number of businesses participating in the pilot program. Business accounts can add clear contact details along with website links. If Business has an Instagram account, it will also be added in the Business Info. We can also expect some sort of Facebook and Instagram integration.

WhatsApp for business is the part of beta version 2.17.285. If you are interested in trying this, you can always download the beta version with available APK.

With WhatsApp for Business, Facebook can think of start earning from its $19 billion investment. WhatsApp is big but it has not yet started monetizing. With Business accounts, there will surely be something to show ads and earn.

Not just this, WhatsApp is also working on UPI based payment system and this feature is also expected to come by the end of this year.
