Google Maps for Android Now Supports Picture-in-picture

Google has updated the Maps app for Android to add support for Program-in-Picture (PiP). However, this feature is only for smartphones running on Google’s latest Android 8.0 Oreo.

PIP mode allows you to shrink the navigation menu. So, you can use any other application along with navigating to a place. This will be helpful when you need to find something on your phone but you do not wish to go away from Maps.

This new feature has been added in new Google Maps for V9.60. If you want to try it now, you need to install this version of Maps. At the time of writing this article, this version of not pushed to Play Store.

It is worth to note that the support for Picture-in-Picture was added few weeks ago in the v9.59 update. But, this had rendering issue. Now it is ready to go live and work properly.
