WhatsApp’s next version for both Android and iOS will be interesting for sure. WhatsApp has added emoji search on Android beta and video streaming while downloading is coming to iPhone.

Emoji search is a much-needed feature that is already available on few third-party keyboard apps. In the recent beta version of WhatsApp for Android, it has introduced the search functionality.

If you are on Beta version 2.17.246, you will see a search icon below the emoji list. Clicking on that will allow you to search for any emoji by typing. As soon as you type, it will start showing you emoji suggestions.

The video streaming feature was initially spotted on Android beta but it seems that the company wants to roll out it to iPhone users first. This feature allows users to watch a video even if it is still not finished downloading. In this way, you will not have to wait for a video to finish the downloading before you can start watching it.

Starting today, iOS users will see play icon in place of download icon in video messages. At the bottom of the video player, it will show the size of the video. As soon as you hit the play icon, it will start playing and downloading.

There will be many more changes in coming weeks. WhatsApp was about to roll out message recall feature. It also changed the WhatsApp FAQ page. Later, the changes on FAQ page were pulled back and this feature is till not available in the stable version of the WhatsApp.
