We knew that Andy Rubin has been working on a new smartphone. Now, this phone is official. He introduced Essential Phone. This phone is a beast and comes with a premium look.

Essential Phone costs $699 with high-end specs. It has 5.7-inch QHD bezel-less. This is edge-to-edge on sides but it leaves leave some bezel at the bottom of the phone. It is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz. It has 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The phone has 13 megapixels Dual RGB + Mono camera with image fusion technology and 13 megapixels True Monochrome camera. It has f/1.85 lens, Hybrid Auto Focus combing Contrast, Phase Detect and IR Laser Assist Focus. It can also record 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps or 720p at 120fps. It also has 8 megapixels front camera with f/2.20 fixed hyperfocal lens. The front camera can also record Video at 4K 30fps, 1080p 60fps or 720p 120fps.

The company has also introduced world’s smallest 360 personal camera, that can be used as a camera module with this phone. It can be attached to the back of the phone.

It also has 4x microphones with noise cancellation and beam forming. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The phone offers USB Type C, Bluetooth 5.0,WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO, NFC, GPS and GLONASS connectivity options. The phone lacks 3.5 mm audio port. The phone is packed with 3040 mAh battery with support to fast charging.

This phone is now available for pre-order in US. It is priced at $699. It comes also bundled with the 360-degree camera for $749 limited time price.

It sports a titanium and ceramic body that offers it a premium look. It comes in Black Moon and Pure white colors. The Stellar Grey and Ocean Depths color options will be added soon.
