Samsung just announced Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones at an event in New York. Both phones have end-to-end, bezel-less screen with Infinity Display. Most of the specifications are same but screen size and battery are different.

Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Galaxy S8+ offers 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with Gorilla Glass 5.

These phones will be available octa-core Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 GPU or octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU depending on the market. These phones will come in 4GB RAM with 64GB storage or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage models.

These phones come with Android 7.- Nougat out of the box. As expected, it comes with Bixby, Samsung’s own voice-based virtual assistants powered by artificial intelligence. Both phones will come with pre-installed apps that will work with Bixby.

These phones have same camera setup. Both phones come with 12 megapixels dual pixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. It also has 8 megapixels front camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are Water and dust resistant with IP68 rating. These phones also come with Iris scanner. It will scan iris to unlock the phone and verify Samsung account. The fingerprint sensor of the phone is located on the back panel.

Samsung also introduced Samsung DeX, Microsoft Continuum-like feature that allows users use smartphone like a computer by docking it to monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Connectivity options of these phone including include 4G LTE (Cat. 16), Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS. These phones also come with heart rate sensor and support Samsung Pay with NFC and MST connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with 3000mAh battery while the S8+ comes with 3500 mAh battery. Both phones support fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging modes.

Both phones come in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold colors.

Samsung has priced Galaxy S8 at $750 and Galaxy S8+ at $850.
