Google has quietly launched a new video conferencing app for businesses. The app is dunned as ‘Meet by Google Hangouts’. It is designed for HD video conferencing.

The URL meet.google.com, is up and running. The app for iOS is now available but there is nothing for Android. When you open the meet’s web ap, it asks you to enter the meeting code to join the meeting or see the meetings you have scheduled. I didn’t find a way to schedule a new call from the site.

Google Meet

Meet offers group video calls and up to 30 participants can join the meeting. The app is a business-friendly version of Google’s Hangouts app.

Google has not officially announced Meet and the app only went live on iTunes app store. Google will surely integrate it in company’s popular suite of productivity tools. It will surely bring early users for Meet.

Around two weeks back, Amazon unveiled its Chime app for video conferencing and now Google is set to fight with its ‘Meet’. So, Skype for business has already got few competitors to fight with.
