OPPO to unveil 5x smartphone photography technology at MWC 2017 on February 27

Chinese handset manufacturer Oppo has confirmed that it will reveal a “5x smartphone photography technology” at upcoming MWC 2017 trade show on February 27 in Barcelona.

With this tech, smartphone camera will see another milestone. As the invite and social media post shows, the tech will be about 5 times optical zoom with the smartphone camera.

The tag lines for the tech are “Go 5x further” and “So close you can feel it”. We can expect this tech to come in all future flagship phones of Oppo.

Speaking about the technology, Mr. Sky Li, VP, OPPO, MD of International Mobile Business & President of OPPO India, said, “OPPO’s relentless pursuit of perfection without compromise has given birth to a remarkable technological breakthrough that will change how the world perceives smartphone photography.”

It is interesting to note that Oppo has achieved several milestones in smartphone technology. It introduced VOOC Super Flash Charge technology and Smart Sensor image stabilization, first sensor-based image stabilizer and the smallest image stabilizer.

Oppo is now 4th largest smartphone company in India with 8.6 percent market share. The camera is an important thing people look for in a phone and Oppo’s continuous effort to bring good camera phone helped the company a lot to maintain a good growth in the market.
