Meizu’s new fast charging tech can fully charge a phone in just 20 minutes

Today, Meizu announced its new battery charging technology and surprised us with “Super mCharge”. It claims to charge a phone from 0 to 100% in just 20 minutes. Is it not amazing?

The new “Super mCharge” uses a 11V/5A charger and delivers up to 55W via a cable which can handle up to 160W. The company claims that the technology is safer that most of the charging available.

The company demonstrated the charging speed on a smartphone with a 3000 mAh battery. It took 5 minutes in charging from 0 – 30%, reached to 60% in 10 minutes, 85% in 15 minutes and fully charged the phone in just 20 minutes.

While charging, the highest temperature battery reaches was 39°C. So, you won’t have any issue with the phone while it is plugged in for charging.

Meizu also confirmed that the 3000 mAh battery retained over 80% of its original capacity even after 800 charge and discharge cycles.

This charging tech looks awesome but we are not sure when it will be available

Meizu is not the only company working on this kind of fast charging tech. Oppo’s Super VOOC technology charges a 2500 mAh battery phone in just 15 minutes. OnePlus is also known for its Dash charge but it is not as fast as charging tech of Meizu or Oppo.
