Today, MediaTek introduced a new member in its Helio P series of chipsets. This new chipset is Helio P25. It has octa-core CPU, dual-camera support, and support for dual cameras.

The new chipset combines the power of 16nm Octa-core processing with MediaTek Imagiq, a superior Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology to give you best camera experience at reasonable price.

Here are the capabilities of MediaTek Imagiq:

  • Pioneering Resolution: Up to 24MP single camera or 13MP+13MP dual camera
  • Dual Camera-optimized: Color + Mono de-noise and real-time shallow DoF bokeh

The most notable thing in Helio P25 is the camera. It brings advance camera features at reasonable price. It supports up to 24 MP single camera or 13MP+13MP dual camera setups. You can also have Video HDR with full preview, shallow Bokeh effect and faster time for focusing or capturing photos.

It has octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.5GHz and 900 MHz Mali-T880 GPU. This 16nm processor offers 25% better power efficiency. It also supports RAM up to 6GB.

This chipset also supports enhanced uploads in LTE. It also includes compatibility with MediaTek’s Envelope Tracking Modulator to deliver more processing power and less heat.

After this chipset, now be ready to see dual camera as a common feature in mid-range smartphones.
