Paytm has added the support for UPI in the latest update. Now you can add money to Paytm wallet using your UPI id.
Adding money using the UPI id is as easy as you do with other payment methods. You must have a UPI enabled app on your phone for the UPI transaction. You must also have a UPI Id activated with your phone number and bank account.
When you enter the amount and select the UPI id to pay, it will open your UPI app to approve the transaction. Once you approve the payment, it will transfer money from your bank account to Paytm wallet.
According to RBI’s guidelines, customers can add from Rs. 1 to Rs. 20000 to Paytm wallet in the single transaction. As UPI does not add any transaction charges, adding money to your Paytm account is done with zero charges.
As of now, the UPI option on Paytm is available for web and iOS app. Android users will get this option soon.
