Nokia’s Android Phones to Get AI Assistant named ‘Viki’
HMD Global has already launched Nokia branded first phone Nokia 6 and now working on few more smartphones. While we all were excited about Nokia branded phones, the recent news brought a big surprise for us. The company might be working on its own text and the voice-based virtual assistant named ‘Viki’.
The company “Nokia Solutions and Networks” recently filed for a trademark in the European Union for the name “Viki”. The name appears to be the name of a digital assistant from the description of filing.
The filing says, “Software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and Web digital assistants working with knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice-based interface.”
If this report turns out to be true, Nokia will be directly competing with Google Assistant, Siri, and Cortana in mobile phone space. Samsung is also working on its virtual assistant and can announce it with Galaxy S8.
