Google has released the personal safety app ‘Trusted Contact’ for Android devices. This phone app lets you share your location with your loved ones in everyday situations or in the case of any emergency. The best thing about the app is that it works offline.

Just install the app and assign “trusted” status to your family and friends. Google will share your activity status with these trusted contacts. If you find yourself in any trouble, you can share your actual location with your trusted contacts.

You can add up to 50 trusted contacts, but I am not sure if you will use more than 5-6 trusted contacts.

Your trusted contacts can also request to see your location. If you are safe and do not want them to access your location, you can deny the request. If you are unable to respond within a specified time frame, your location will be shared and your trusted contacts will determine the best way to help you out.

You can always change your trusted contacts if you want. You can also stop sharing your location.

You can also broadcast your location at any given moment to your trusted contacts and they will be able to see your real-time location until you stop sharing.
