Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) had officially announced Bluetooth 5 back in June this year. Now Bluetooth 5 is officially available for devices. The device manufacturer will now be available build devices with Bluetooth 5.

This next generation Bluetooth connectivity offers four times better range, two times faster speed and eight times broadcast message capacity. It also offers new functionality for connectionless services including location and navigation.

With these new improvements, devices will now offer better coverage at home and commercial environment.

“This means whole-home and building coverage, as well as new use cases for outdoor, industrial, and commercial applications, will be a reality. With the launch of Bluetooth 5, we continue to evolve to meet the needs of IoT developers and consumers while staying true to what Bluetooth is at its core: the global wireless standard for simple, secure, connectivity.”

Bluetooth 5 will also give more power to IoT devices that are next big things in the tech world.
