Google’s Daydream View VR headset-controller combo is now available. So, YouTube has also released its official app for DayDream VR platform. To use this app, you only need to own a DayDream ready smartphone and DayDream View VR headset.
This official app will allow users to enjoy the all YouTube videos, including standard and immersive 360-degree clips using DayDream VR headset.
If you sign-in the app using your YouTube account, you can also enjoy your subscriptions and play lists on VR headset.
A good thing in the app is that it supports Google voice search and spatial audio.
This app also supports Theater mode. This mode is interesting and displays the video in the main portion of the screen and information such as the title and description will float alongside the clip. It also shows the queue of videos and player controls. You can interact with these controls using using Daydream View’s handheld controller.
