Xiaomi launches PM2.5 Detector Air Quality Monitor
Not just Mi Air Purifier Pro, Xiaomi also launched another smart home product in China. This new home product is Xiaomi Mi PM 2.5 detector that displays the Air quality and few other parameters.
PM2.5 Detector Air Quality Monitor is a cuboidal shaped device with an OLED display and a high-precession laser sensor. The display shows real-time metrics includes battery life, network strength and the quality of the air. The horizon line on display shows three different colors like Green, Orange and Red which indicates the quality of the air.
It can also work as the companion for the Mi Air Purifier and Mi Air Purifier 2 as these two devices miss the OLED display. Its high-precession laser sensor can detect the particles of up to 0.3 micrometers in diameter. When the air quality does down, it automatically triggers the Air purifiers to work and clean the air.
It can also purify the formaldehyde, allergens, smoke and other chemical harmful substances in the air.
It is a pocket-friendly due to small size. It measures 62 mm x 62 mm x 32 mm in size and weight is just 100 grams. Users can easily carry it along with them and check the air quality both indoors and outdoors.
It is packed with 750 mAh battery that can last for around 3 hours once fully charged. Battery life can be disappointing but this was due to keep it as small as possible.
The PM2.5 detector is priced at 399 Yuan. Now the device is listed on official Xiaomi website and will go on sale starting November 11.
