Earlier this month, Xiaomi celebrated a milestone of selling half million smartphones in three days during festive season sales. Now within 15 days, Xiaomi has achieved another big milestone. The company has sold 1 million smartphones within 18 days in the month of October.

To make the occasion, CEO Lei Jun shared an open letter to Xiaomi employees. This letter encourages employees to work harder to achieve the similar milestone in coming days. He also thanked their online partners and Mi fans who helped the company to achieve the success in marker

Lei Jun notes India as their important market in Xiaomi’s globalization strategy. He also recalled few milestones of Xiaomi which shows how well the company has been doing in India for past two years.

  • August 2015: We became the first smartphone brand to participate in Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
  • July to August 2016: As per IDC, we became the #1 online smartphone brand in the country.
  • September 2016: As per IDC, we became the third-largest smartphone vendor within India’s Top 30 cities with 8.4% market share.
  • September 2016: Redmi Note 3 became the best-selling device in the online market with over 2.3 million devices sold in 6 months.

He claims that the core of Xiaomi model is creating high-quality products, making friends with our users, and
operating our business extremely efficiently. Well, this model was successful in China and now the same model is working well in India.

Recently, Xiaomi has been working hard to improve its offline reach to get more customers from the rural part of India. Yesterday, we reported its partnership with StoreKing. The company is also trying to improve its after sale service to give customers the better experience. Recently, it also launched its first phone only for the offline market.

Xiaomi is not just a popular smartphone company but a consumer electronics company that has so many innovative products to choose from. Recently it also launched its Mi Purifier in India for Rs. 10000. This product was also priced aggressively as compared to other Air Purifier in the Indian market. We are expecting more products from Xiaomi in coming months as Xiaomi products have the huge demand in the market.
