Xiaomi announces Mi Mix smartphone with edgeless display in China today. It has 91.3% screen-body ratio, piezoelectric ceramic earpiece speaker and behind-display ultrasonic proc sensor. This is world’s first border-less mobile announced at Xiaomi’s Beijing event today. It is designed by French designer Philippe Starck.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix phone will be available in China starting November 4. It comes in two models. First model comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which will available for 3499 yuan and the other one is a premium model with 18k gold embossing and 256GB of storage, which will available for 3,999 yuan.
The Mi Mix is made from ceramics which also includes the frame and buttons. This is to achieve the toughness and premium feel. The smartphone has 6.4-inch (2040×1080 pixel), 17:9 aspect ratio display. The Mi Mix smartphone does not have any physical buttons at the bottom of the phone. This makes Mi Mix, the first Xiaomi phone with on-screen controls.
Mi MIX is powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. It comes with 16 megapixels rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording. It also has a 5-megapixels front-facing camera.
The connectivity features of the phone are 4G VoLTE , WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz) MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC. It also has a fingerprint sensor located at the back panel. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 8.
It has 4,400 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
