Google’s ‘Pixel 3’ will be the first ‘Andromeda’ OS running laptop

Andromeda

There are few reports claiming the possible announcement of ‘Andromeda’ OS on October 4th event. Now, Android Police has reported about Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 laptop running on ‘Andromeda’ OS. Pixel 3 is just a nickname and it is internally known as ‘Bison’

‘Andromeda’ operating system is the combination of  Android and Chrome OS. Andromeda is just the code name and it can get a new name at the time of launch. Google has already tested this on two-year-old Nexus 9 tablet.

It will be too early to talk about this new OS because we have no idea about it. Google will try to remove all those drawbacks which became the road block for Chrome OS.

Bison will be an ultra-thin laptop with a 12.3″ display. It will be a 2-in-1 laptop similar to Lenovo Yoga convertible devices. It is expected to come with either an Intel m3 or i5 Core processor with 32 or 128GB of storage and 8 or 16GB of RAM. There will also be a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and 3.5 mm audio port.

It will have the long lasting battery with 10 hours of backup. It will also have stylus support that will be available separately. The keyboard will be backlit. The track trackpad will use haptic and force detection similar to the MacBook. It will also have stereo speakers.

Pricing is expected to start from 4799. This laptop will hit the market in Q3 2017. Even if the invite of October 4 event focuses on the mobile phone, we will also see announcements of Google Home, Google Wifi, Daydream View, and the new Chromecast Ultra. We can also expect the confirmation of this laptop or Andromeda, but these will not be the focus of the event.
