Earlier today, Apple issued an urgent software update for iPhone and iPad to patch a serious security vulnerability. Apple has issued iOS 9.3.5 and you should install this version right now.

This security flaw exploits iOS and can give a third party complete control over your iPhone. Security firm Lookout confirmed that the flaw was created by Israel-based NSO Group. But Citizen Lab said leaked documents appear to show the Israeli company selling a spyware product called Pegasus. This is the matter of investigation and will take time.

This attack involves a text message with a link to victim’s iPhone. If the victim clicks on the link, an attacker will get access to everything on the iPhone from call logs to emails and photos.

This attack has been categorized as one of the most sophisticated attacks seen on a device. Apple was very quick to fix this and provide patches. So, you should also be quick to update your phone.

This attack used three previously known vulnerability and it can be worth of $1 million. Well, $1 million is not high if you get a trick to hack iOS users easily.

The update is already available. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to update your phone.

To be on safer side, do not click on links in messages sent from any unknown senders. You may give him access to your phone.
