New details confirm that Apple is ditching the 16 GB variant of iPhone and will be launching iPhone in 256 GB variant. So far only the iPad had 256GB and this will be first iPhone to have this much of storage. The 16 GB storage variant was already not making sense but Apple brought iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in 16 GB variants just to keep initial pricing low on papers.

Packaging also confirms the contents of retail box. According to this, buyers will find a new EarPod headphones with a Lightning Connector and a Lightning to headphone jack adapter. Standard Lightning cable and power adapter are also included in this box.
