Coolpad Mega with 5.5-inch Display and 3GB RAM Launched for Rs. 6999

Coolpad has launched its new entry-level smartphone Coolpad Mega in the Indian market. This phone is priced at Rs. 6999 only. It will be available exclusively from Amazon starting August 24.

Update: earlier version of this article mentioned the price to be Rs. 7499 based on Amazon listing. But the company announced the price to be Rs. 6999

Coolpad Mega features a 5.5-inch HD Display based on 2.5D glass. It claims to offer premium in-hand experience with elegant metal frame and plastic body with textures on it. It runs on Cool UI 8.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It is powered by Quad-core MediaTek MT67355P processor with 3GB RAM and Mali T720 GPU.

It comes with 8-megapixels rear camera at back with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and sony sensor. At front, it has 8-megapixels camera with f/2.2 aperture. So, selfie lovers with less budget can now rejoice. It has smart beautification which detects your age and applies effects based on it.

While other devices from Coolpad came with fingerprint sensor, this phone lacks fingerprint sensor.

Connectivity features of this phone are 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It has microUSB port and also supports USB OTG. It is packed with 2500 mAh battery which claims to offer 9 hours of talk time.
