Android Nougat is being rolled out to Nexus devices and Pixel C

Android 7.0 Nougat is finally here and is available to few devices via an over-the-air update. Google has also confirmed the name of devices which are:

  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 9
  • Nexus Player
  • Pixel C
  • General Mobile 4G (Android One)

Any other device which enrolled in Android Beta program will also receive the final version of Android 7. Google also confirmed that LG V20 will be the first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat. 

Google says that Android Nougat reflects the input from fans and developers around the globe. Google has added over 250 major new features in this new version of Android.

Google has added 72 new emojis. With these, now you have over 1500 different emojis to choose from. It comes with multi-window multitasking support, better notifications, better battery performance, improved performance, better security, Android for work and New accessibility features. It also claims to save your mobile data.

VR is now an important part of Android Nougat. It comes with support for Vulkan and daydream.

If you own any supported devices mentioned in the list above, you only need to wait for OTA update which can come to your device anytime soon. You can expect the update within 72 hours.
