Transcend has announced the availability of its high-performance solid state drive in India. It is priced at Rs. 2999 for 120GB, Rs. 4790 for 240GB and Rs. 9990 for the 480GB versions.

Transcend SSD220S is rated to offer transfer speed up to 550 MB/S and the DDR3 DRAM cache provides 4K random read and write up to 330MB/S. So, you will feel more responsive system and better performance.

The company also claims long operating life for this SSD.  It also features multiple built-in technologies for maximum reliability including Error Correction Code (ECC), Device Sleep (DevSleep) mode, and shorten the response time upon wake-up from Sleep. It also has S.M.A.R.T. function to efficiently monitor SSD health conditions.

It is only 6.8 mm thin and weight is only 58 grams. It fits most of the modern notebook and replaces heavier traditional hard drives.

It is covered under 3 years warranty but the 3 years warranty does not apply when SSD Scope’s wear-out indicator shows 0% within 3 years.
