Oppo is now number 1 smartphone maker in China

Oppo is now number 1 smartphone maker in China

June 2016 was very good for Chinese smartphone maker Oppo. According to the research firm Counterpoint, Oppo grew to be the number 1 smartphone market in China last month in terms of sell-through for smartphones.

With 23% market share, Oppo is at the top followed by Huawei with 17.4% and Vivo with 12%. Apple has also made its way into the list at 4th place with 9% market share. Xiaomi managed to get only 6.8% market share.

It is worth to note that Oppo had less than 2% of smartphone market share in China back in 2014. It grew to 6.1% market share in 2015. But the growth in 2016 was tremendous and company managed to get 22.9%. Oppo F1 Plus was the best-selling phone in China in the month of June 2016.

If you compare the stats from previous year, Xiaomi saw large drop in sales. It has only 6.8 percent market share which was 15.1 percent last year.
