OnePlus 3 will be launched on June 15, but the company has already put this phone up for auction. OnePlus has partnered with Droom, online automobile marketplace, to conduct first ever smartphone auction in India.
It’s a kind of strange marketing strategy in which fans will get a chance to bid to win OnePlus 3 smartphone even before the phone goes on sale on Amazon.
This auction will go live starting from June 9th, 4 PM to June 12th, 3:59:59 PM and top 5 highest bidders for OnePlus 3 will win the first ever OnePlus 3 in India along with a surprise element attached to the phone. The company will reveal this surprise element at the time of handing over the phones to winners.
Elaborating on the concept behind the auction Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, India at OnePlus said, “We are excited by the response from the OnePlus community to our latest flagship. Through this unique smartphone auction, we want to offer our loyal fans an opportunity to get their hands on the first few OnePlus 3 smartphones in the country, even before it goes on sale while also contributing to the society.”
To take part in this auction, visit the Droom website and register on the portal. Bidding will start from Rupee 1 with no can on the final amount. Every bid will increase the price of the big by Rupees 5. There will also be a live leaderboard on the product page to showcase the top 10 bids in real time.
