Google is testing Internet speed test tool in search results

Most of the people use Speed test tool by Ookla to check the internet speed they are getting. Searching for “Speed test” phrase also returns Ookla’s speed test tool. Now, Google wants to take the advantage of people’s query regarding speed test. It is testing an Internet Speed test tool in search results which provides on demand Internet speed test.

If you click in “run speed test”, Google’s Measurement Lab checks your connection speed and gives you details. Google’s Measurement Lab was founded back in 2009 which studies global internet performance.

This was spotted by Pete Meyers, but we couldn’t get success in getting this kind of widget in search even after trying so many queries related to search results. We I have no exact idea of this widget and its working. I am relying on the information provided from the source.

It is worth to note that rival Bing already shows speed test results in search results. Just type “Speed test” in bing search and see the speed test tool. Netflix also launched a similar kind of tool to measure speed test.
