Facebook did few changes in its official social share buttons. Most notable change is in Like button which drops f icon to adopt thumbs up and count bubble has been removed. Like, count it in the same icon.

Facebook says that primary reason for this change is to offer the good experience in mobile devices. Older buttons were great for desktop experience but this new era of mobile-first forced Facebook to redesign the Like button. Facebook also claims that this new button saw about six percent more likes in its side-by-side testing with the legacy button.

The Share, Follow, and Save buttons also got new design but Share and Follow buttons are keeping the same f icon. Save button also has familiar bookmark icon.

These new buttons will also come to Instant Articles in coming days and will be at the bottom of those pages.

Along with the redesign, Facebook has also released the official ‘Save to Facebook’ extension and ‘Share to Facebook’ extension for the Chrome browser. Both extensions are now available via Chrome web store for free.

Facebook extension

Both extensions are useful for users and especially save to Facebook. Facebook claims that over 300 million users already use Save feature. With this extension, they can easily save any article to read it later. These saved articles will be available in dedicated tab in Facebook’s website or app.

It lets you save anything including articles, videos, images and pages from any website. This extension not just save links but also show you the links to saved articles. So, you can directly click and open the page you saved.

Share button does the same it sounds. It opens the share pop-up where you can add text if want and share any webpage on Facebook.
