According to few reports, Amazon is working on its new music streaming service. Name of the service is not known yet but this service will reportedly launch in late summer or fall. For this, the company is working on finalizes its licensing agreements.

Amazon’s music streaming service will directly compete with Apple Music and Spotify in the US. As of initial reports, this will cost $9.99 per month to offer the competitive catalog of songs.

It is worth to note that Amazon already offers a free music streaming service with the limited catalog to subscribers of its Prime shipping and video service. We cannot say if this music streaming service will continue to exist after Amazon’s new music streaming service. We can expect this to be a part of the new service. So, Amazon Prime users will continue to enjoy this music service.

Amazon also hopes to integrate the new music streaming service with the Echo. But, we have to wait for few more weeks to know more about this integration.

Amazon’s this move will surely have an effect on existing music streaming players. According to experts, it will not have any effect on Spotify but it could be a threat to Apple Music. But, we do not agree with this point. Many iOS people adopted Apple Music and ditched Spotify as they did not want to install another app. The Same case will go with Amazon. But pricing and deals will also have an important role in the success of Amazon’s music streaming service.

As we have very little information about this new music service, it will be wrong to compare it with existing rivals.

We are trying to get more information about Amazon’s new music streaming service. As we have more information, we will surely report it as soon as possible.
