Samsung has launched its new tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris in Indian market. This tablet comes with iris-recognition technology which is also Aadhaar-compliant and STQC-certified under ‘Make for India’ initiative. It is priced at Rs. 13499 only.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris features a 7-inch WSVGA display and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB RAM. It is packed with 8 GB internal storage with microSD card slot to expand storage up to 200 GB.

It features a 5-megapixels rear camera. Connectivity features of this phone are 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB OTG. It is packed with 3600 mAh battery.

It comes with Iris Camera and Subsystem for iris recognition system. It enable users to access services remotely by embedding Aadhaar iris-biometric authentication capabilities.  It can be used for several other different kind of authentication.

“This alignment will provide a more secure authentication and verification process and help the country transition away from traditional authentication processes,” added Samsung.
