Facebook Considers to let users make money from posts

Facebook

Facebook is working to add a way to allow users make the profit from their posts on the social network. Yes, you read it right and Facebook is doing a survey before testing this kind of revenue sharing thing on the site.

The Verge spotted a new user survey which hints the possibility of this new rumor. Facebook can allow users to accept donations in posts or earn money. Revenue sharing is another option which will allow users to generate revenue from posts.

Facebook make money from posts

The Verge also noted that this survey was spotted by a verified Facebook page. So, we can expect Facebook to start testing this kind of ad revenue from verified pages. And it also makes sense. So, individual users will not be able to monetize their posts. But this option will be very interesting when individual users can make money on Facebook.

Facebook already testing a different kind of ads. Recently it has started testing ads within the suggestions that pop up after you watch a video and share money with the publisher. It has also started expanding its publishing tools. Now anyone can publish instant articles and be a part of Facebook’s content publishing.

Facebook will not be the firs social media platform to allow users earn money. YouTube is already a revenue sharing platform for many years. Twitch, YouNow, and few others are also doing the same. There are many more examples of this.

Recently Facebook’s vice president of partnerships has also spoken about the company’s interest in creating various revenue-sharing deals with users. But, he didn’t mention the time frame and other criteria for this. But, now we know that something similar is coming very soon.

While Facebook was pushing its video desire for quite long time, I never thought that it would beat Youtube. Primary reason was revenue sharing from Facebook. Publishers were interested in sharing videos on YouTube because they have the option to earn from video views. But on Facebook, they can only get video views and more likes.

Of course, this was just a survey and Facebook could decide not to go with this way. But, we now have a clear idea that Facebook planning something similar. This will also be the better thing for publishers because most of their readers are online on Facebook most of the times.

Facebook is now a big ad network with millions of advertisers. So, it can be a potential competitor to Google Adsense. Facebook can also experiment with different methods to earn money and engage people. Few people also expect Facebook to open its ad network similar to Adsense and allow websites to show Facebook ads and earn money. But we do not think the same. It is because Facebook wants all websites to push content via its platform. This why it brought instant articles. And this will be next big thing to attract more publishers for revenue sharing.

It feels nice to see more likes on a post, but what would the feeling if you will be paid for your posts?
