Popular instant messaging app Line has rolled out group voice calling for its Android, iOS and desktop app for Windows. This group voice calling feature supports up to 200 users.
Person to person video and voice calling have already been there in Line app. Now, users can make voice calls to more than one persons. The Good thing is that it supports up to 200 users at the same time. I am not sure why someone will allow 200 people in the group were calling. But this can be used in some commercial things.
As of now, Line is bringing this feature outside to its main markets Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia and will be expanded to these countries later.
“The group call feature can be utilised for no charge as long as the user has the Line app installed, allowing easy communication with a worldwide community of users. The service is perfect for catching up with friends and family, and also for use at work for important conference calls. The possibilities are endless with this tool designed to eliminate the traditional barriers to effective group communication,” says the company blog post.
The line came into existence as WhatsApp-style messaging app and now claims to have around 200 monthly active users. It is very popular in Japan and few other Asian countries. With this group video calling feature, it wants to attract more users.
