WhatsApp increases group limit from 100 to 256

Soon after reaching to 1 billion users, WhatsApp has increased the group members’ limit from 100 to 256. Initially it was 50 but company increased it to 100 in November 2014.

This new limit is only available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android. If you are interested, you can download it from official website. You can see the snapshot below.

In past few months, we have seen various big announcements and changes in WhatsApp. It announced to be free for all users for always. It is also testing business profiles to let business communicate with their customers on WhatsApp.

If you are already managing large group on WhatsApp and receive requests from more people to join, now you can have up to 256 members. But managing large group is not an easy task.
