Vodafone India has launched its 4G LTE service in Delhi NCR region. Vodafone’s 4G is already available in Kerala, Mysore and Kolkata. Company confirmed that 4G is not instantly available but it will be rolled out in phases. In initial phase, 4G is now available in prominent business and residential corridors of Gurgaon. Other part of Delhi NCR will get 4G in coming weeks.

Vodafone data packs will be available starting from 35MB at Rs. 11 to a bonanza pack of 20GB at R.s 2499. I was at the launch event to see how much speed they can offer. It was amazing. Download was around 70- 100 MB per second while upload was around 35 to 60 MB per seconds. It is much higher than Vodafone’s existing 3G data speed. You can see the photo attached in this article.

Vodafone is offering 4G services on the 1800MHz band which is preferred network for 4G roll out.Airtel is offering 4G on 2300 MHz which is less optimized for 4G.

If you are an existing Vodafone customer, you will get these extra benefits:

  • Free upgrade to 4G with free 4G SIM
  • 3 Months of free access to TV, Movies & Music on Vodafone Play as a part of 4G subscription
  • Listed to free songs on Vodafone Music
