IRCTC To Offer 25 Varieties Of Customizable “Chai” On Trains

IRCTC To Offer 25 Varieties Of Customizable “Chai” On Trains

IRCTC wants to offer you varieties of tea on trains. Now you will get over 25 varieties of tea, which can further be customised in over 12,000 ways. These varieties of tea will come from popular tea cafe chain Chaayos.

IRCTC has launched a new mobile app for taking tea orders. Customers will also get 10% cashback on e-catering order over Rs 300. As of now, it is available only on limited stations. This service will first start for all trains from New Delhi railway station. Later, it will be rolled out to other stations.

“The steaming cup of tea, an inseparable part of any train journey, is going to be tastier and customised in choicest flavours with IRCTC entering into a tie up with leading tea cafe chain Chaayos. Another good news for rail passengers is that we have decided to give 10% cash back offer on e-catering orders of over Rs 300,” said Arun Kumar Manocha, chairman, IRCTC.

How to order tea

Passengers who want to use this service will have to order the desired tea or snackers two hours before the arrival of trains at Delhi and Mumbai. You can either download the app developed for this. Or log on to www.ecatering.irctc.co.in. You can also call on toll-free number 1800-1034-139 to place and confirm the order.

Since the new government took charge, Indian Railway seems to be very active in improving its services. Railway Minister is already active on Twitter and helping passengers on every single complaint IRCTC has also improved the website to improve the user experience. They also partnered with Foodpanda and Dominos for offering better food and Pizza to railway passengers.

It will be interesting to see more services joining hands with Indian railways to offer improved services.
