To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Skype has announced its group video calling feature for Android, iOS and Windows 1o Mobile. This feature was already there but only for Skye for Business users. Now, this feature will be available for all Skype users. Group calling will be available for free and will be rolling out in coming days. You can pre-register now.
With this addition Skype will compete with Google’s Hangouts which support group video calling with up to 10 users. Line, Viber, WeChat and few other popular messaging apps also have the feature. Skype’s popularity will help in getting early users and beat competition.
Group video calling was a much needed and requested feature on Skype. Company also confirmed that around 750 million people have downloaded Skype on their Windows Phone, Android device, iPhone and iPad till date.
